About Holger Schubert
Holger Schubert is a German-born multidisciplinary designer and entrepreneur with more than 25 years of international experience across product design, architecture, interiors, brand development, and manufacturing. Educated at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena and Switzerland, and shaped by professional experience at IDEO in San Francisco, Milai Corporation, and TOTO in Tokyo, Holger brings together German precision, Japanese restraint, American entrepreneurial thinking, and a practical understanding of how design moves from concept to market.
His career has consistently crossed disciplines. After developing the award-winning Flexily ballpoint pen as a student, Holger managed its transition from design concept to international production and distribution. In 1997, he founded Archisis Inc. in LA, where he led architectural, interior, and custom design projects ranging from compact residences to large properties valued up to USD 11 million. His work has received awards including the Japanese G-Mark, IDSA Award, and A&D Award, and has been featured in international media and on American television.
Now based in Ningbo, Holger is focused on building a new model of design development through HOLGER DESIGN UN LIMITED. After working closely with Chinese factories, suppliers, and production specialists, he has developed a deep respect for the capabilities behind Made in China. To Holger, China is not simply a manufacturing base; it is an environment where technical expertise, speed, material knowledge, craftsmanship, and scalable production can turn ambitious ideas into refined commercial products.
His goal is to combine this manufacturing strength with international design and an uncompromising standard of quality. Every project is approached as a complete system, covering concept development, brand strategy, product design, sourcing, prototyping, engineering, manufacturing, quality control, and packaging. This integrated process allows design intent to remain consistent from the start to the end.
Through HOLGER DESIGN UN LIMITED, Holger is developing long-term collaborations across furniture, consumer products, lighting, automotive-related design, fashion, interiors, and lifestyle categories. He works with companies that value original thinking, precise execution, and lasting product quality—not only to design individual objects, but to build complete product lines, brand identities, and commercially viable platforms.
Holger’s strength lies in connecting creativity with execution. By bringing together international design experience and the full potential of high-quality Chinese manufacturing, he aims to create products and partnerships that redefine what Made in China can represent: innovation, precision, craftsmanship, and world-class design.
